First Impressions start at the curb people!
If your home's curb appeal makes a great first impression, trust me, everyone -- including potential home buyers -- will want to see what's inside. Here are a few low-cost curb appeal improvements that you can do to help market your property.
- The front entry is the focal point of your home. Make a statement by giving your front door a blast of colour with paint. Use some metal polish on the door fixtures. The entrance to your home should be welcoming, so choose a beautiful seasonal wreath to hang on the door.
- House numbers, hardware, a mailbox, and light fixtures are all elements that can add style to the exterior.
Make sure they are new, polished and current and go well together.
Oiled-bronze finishes (ORB) are very popular and current as well as brushed nickel.
- Container gardens are a quick and affordable welcoming touch. You can create your own containers or urns with your favourite plants or simply buy them ready made.
-Show some personality! Use your mailbox for some extra curb appeal and by painting the wooden post to match the house's exterior colour, or surround it by a beautiful garden.
-Lastly... Get those garden beds into shape by pulling weeds, planting flowers, shrubs and adding new mulch to restore faded colour. Low maintenance is always an appealing choice to the prospective home buyer.
These are all pretty basic projects and can be done in a weekend. Those "drive by" potential buyers will definitely be calling to book a showing!
